Default Pulling out dash

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be pulling out the dash of my AU off Road racer. I have read that if i pull the dash out, I'm going to have to do a trip to ford to get something re programmed? The mechanic couldn't really tell me what it was, so im a bit skeptical, but don't want to go nuts pulling it out only to find out that I will need to go to ford.

Secondly to that, if I it will need a trip to ford, can i just cut it out without cutting the wire etc? I mean i dont need the dash and its pretty beat up so wont be selling it.

Thanks
Callan
